MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Christ Among Neighbors is the desire to serve as disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ by offering a crisis intervention service to our community.

Through His guidance, we will assist our neighbors, who have exhausted every available means of adequate food, rental assistance, clothing, utilities, medical care, etc.

SERVICED 
AREAS

The serviced areas as defined as comprising the Shippensburg Area School District and the village of Walnut Bottom.  We work with many Social Service agencies in the community in order to assist our neighbors in getting all the help they need.

APPLICATION PROCESS

We are open by appointment only.  To schedule an appointment please call us at 717-532-7577 and leave a message with your name and phone number or send an email to: canshipinfo@gmail.com and a volunteer will return your call within 24 hours.  Appointments are available on Wednesday afternoon between 1pm and 3pm and Saturday mornings between 9am and 11am. If you are homeless or in need of immediate assistance, please call “211”.

There is currently an Emergency Rental Assistance Plan in place for both Cumberland and Franklin County.  This may help residents with rent and utilities.  See if you qualify by visiting one of the following sites:

DOCUMENTATION 
NEEDED

All applicants must provide an ID, a copy of the bill they need help with, and proof of income.  No funds are given to individuals - instead all payments are made directly to landlords and other vendors.  Clients must be a resident of Shippensburg for at least 30 days to apply.  All applicant's information is kept in the strictest confidence.

BOARD MEETINGS

Our board meetings are typically held at 11 am on the 2nd Saturday of each quarter at Katie's Place, 130 S. Penn Street, Shippensburg, PA.  Interested parties may contact us at
